Rancho Palos Verdes, California, is a suburban city south of Los Angeles. Part of the city overlooks the Pacific Ocean and Santa Catalina Island-- twenty-six miles away.

We traveled by car from RPV to Long Beach and then took Metro Rail all the way to Pasadena to the 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade. All of the floats are covered completely with plant parts-- petals, seeds, bark, leaves, etc. It's an amazing parade. The route is six miles long. Check back in two days for an amusing view of one participant.
