This message made me stop and think about the hurtful things that are sometimes thoughtlessly said.

Firecracker 10K Run

Last Sunday, Feb. 28, was the 32nd Firecracker 10K run in Los Angeles' Chinatown. It's well-attended, but tough. The first two miles go uphill through Elysian Park, home of the Los Angeles Police Academy and Dodger Stadium.

Shadow in the Art

These sculptures are on the campus of my alma mater, California State University, Long Beach.

I've been driving past them for weeks now. Yesterday was a day of protest held by university students and faculty as well as public school teachers, parents, and students. People are concerned about the financial cuts that have been made to these public institutions.

Palms, but Not in California

These very tall palm trees live inside of the World Financial Center in Battery Park West, Manhattan, New York. They seem healthy even though they're "displaced."

Moving Traffic

I like the effect of the car lights.

Another Passageway

This walkway takes you to one of the malls in Rancho Palos Verdes. I like the fact that its outdoors.
