I'm looking forward to seeing this marker today. On Friday, it was sitting next to the expo tent only a few feet away from the mile 11 and 12 markers.

Runners Helping Organs R Us

Here are some of the 8394 runners who ran the first Half-Marathon. (San Francisco had two separate half-marathons. One goes across the Golden Gate Bridge. The other starts at GG Park and ends at the Embarcadero.)

Firecracker 10K Run

Last Sunday, Feb. 28, was the 32nd Firecracker 10K run in Los Angeles' Chinatown. It's well-attended, but tough. The first two miles go uphill through Elysian Park, home of the Los Angeles Police Academy and Dodger Stadium.

Long Beach Marathon 2009

Yesterday was the 25th Long Beach Marathon. There were more than 20,000 people who participated in the marathon, half-marathon, and the 5K races.

The Hills Are Alive!

Yesterday was the "Hills Are Alive" 10K run for the Pepper Tree Foundation. They're a local organization that raises funds for the recreational needs of our neighboring city, Rolling Hills Estates. This run, and the 5K run, are held on the horse trails of RHE. There were a lot of young children, teens, and over 65-year olds who ran along with the young and middle-age adults.
