Global Warming!

This piece of sculpture was created by Bonnie Meltzer in 2008. It's mixed media with painted found objects, paper, beads, and crocheted wire. It's one of a series of sculptures that she's done that use globes and other found objects as a source of inspiration for visual commentary on the state of the earth's health.

Where is This?

Here's a series of contemporary buildings with striking colors.  Looks like Greece, Morocco, Santa Fe, New Mexico, or Venice, CA.  Try to guess where I took this picture?

Robot

Here's some more public art from the San Francisco airport.  It's one of several life-size version of robots made from objects found at local flea markets.  The artist, Clayton G. Bailey, calls this one, "Gear Bot."  It's one of my favorites.  Check back next week for photos of Fresnel Bot, Milk Bot, and Lava Bot.

Dolphins at Sunset

This lovely dolphin sculpture (see post from July 29 about the Ginsburg sculpture ) really dances at sunset.

Knitting at the Library

This library sculpture is wearing a scarf to promote the community knitting project next Saturday, Dec. 13. Knitters of all ages and skill levels knit 7 inch by 9 inch pieces that are joined together for a charity.
